As the brute slowed, I darted into the shadows and protections of the grey and brown trees, where I could be invisible. I watched as he stood in his proudness, and I knew again that he had some clue of that I was following, watching, dancing.
The past, or the future?
The known or unknown?
Risks, or the edge?
I took the edge.
As I stepped forward as silently as I could, my dark eyes never leaving the stallion. As I step out of the trees, still in the shadows, and nicker softly.
"Are you okay, sir?" I ask quietly, for he seemed to be looking for something... or missing it.

I walked slowly along the banks,my hooves barley touching the ground as i moved with such grace.I smiled to myself at the cool breeze that dried my coat and looked at the sky,my smile starting to fade as i stared at the clouds and sighed.I hated being alone but what was i supposed to do? i was never good with meeting someone nor talking to another at that.

I started when the mare spoke to me, blinking out of my facade of confusion. I nickered quietly, casting my eyes towards as I spoke huskily, my voice rasping slightly "I'm perfectly...fine..." my voice sounded strained, even to my own ears.
The porcelain of my coat made me seem vunerable, and I shook slightly, the wind having it's own way with me as it buffeted my mane around my head.
I felt as if I would be taken away from this world unless if I threw a fight, kicking and screaming.

I raised one eyebrow, but did not say anything. My grey mane lifted in the breeze, my tail spread out behind me. I didn't believe him, but he would tell me if he was ready.
The past or the future?
Pain or the unknown?
Fear or fear?
I sighed, looking away, my long forelock covering my eyes.
"Where do you come from, if I may ask so, sir?" I murmur, looking up through my blonde eyelashes. I take a step closer, still giving him room, but just to look him over. He did look... fragile. Like a ghost. Like dust. I smirked to myself at that last one, but otherwise my face remained unreadable.
Alone or company?

My coat tingled as i felt something crawling to try and get to the surface which happened to be a bitterly cold shiver as i felt a storm surge its way slowly to cover above us.The sky turning a purple black color.I threw my head up as i cantered away into the darkness in search of a place to be dry which i so happened to stumble apon a cave near the river against the side of the mountain. The rain had just started to get heavy as i walked in and shoke myself with yet another shiver going down my spine to end at my hooves.

I startled at the sudden wind that picked up around me. Shivering, my pupils dilated as I though about the mare's question.
"...I...I don't know..." I said quietly, all too aware of my predicament and of how this could affect me.
I took an unsteady step back, consumed by a new wave of confusion.

I tilted my head to the side as a look of confusion swept over his features and stepped back, giving him room. Confusion?
"I'm sorry, sir. I didn't mean to upset you." I said quietly, shivering as the wind picked up, playing games with my too-long mane and forelock. Suddenly, I felt protective of this stallion as I felt the cold biting deep into my flesh. I looked around, my mane slapping hard against my neck.
"Shall we head for cover?" I said louder to get myself heard, but still fairly quiet over the noise of the storm. The rain hit me hard and I flicked my ears back in annoyance. Stupid weather.
I felt that annoying urge to stand in front of the fragile stallion again, but I ignored it, still searching for a place for cover. A large cave was only a hundred metres away or so, and I shook my head for some reason I did not know.
Will the stallion come?
Where did he come from?
What is wrong with him?
Why is he scared?
I turned my head to the stallion and called quietly. "Coming?"
Pain, or the unknown?
The past, present of future?
Company, or nothing?
Unknown, or the unknown?
"No one can win in this game of life, can they?" I mutter to myself
.

I blinked at the mare, suddenly seeing her petite features jump into my eyes. Each contour was explained for itself and I whickered sharply with appreciation.
I felt obliged to tell this mare about myself but held back, instead simply nodding with agreement to her common sense.
I moved slowly, languidly, my long, lean and transparent legs moving with an unkempt grace. I kept my distance from her, but only out of respect as I whispered
"I'm...Casino"

I felt my skin crawl, in a shudder like motion as the rain drops dripped off my mane and tail while streaming down my legs.A Snort echoed threw the cave as I turned my rather large body to peak out at the darkening sky that roared with loud thunder and the crashing of lights. My ears perked with each bang while my gaze stayed locked on the lightning that I loved to see.A slow smile spread along my features as I put my muzzle in the rain and felt it cool my boiling skin that seemed to get heated for no reason.

I jumped slightly as the stallion introduced himself. I shook my blonde forelock out of my eyes and gazed at him levelly.
Oh, how I so wanted to protect him, to help him! Instead I just nickered softly, acknowledging his introduction.
If I hadn't of been so distracted then, I probably would have noticed the fresh scent of the stallion, and the quickly-filling hoof prints.
"I..."
I hesitated, unsure and wary for the second time today. The rain bit deep into my brown coat, and my grey mane and tail flickered in the raging wind.
"I am Pixie Dust..." I murmur, suddenly embarrassed by my name. But I lifted my head high as I lead the way towards the cave.
Why is life so hard?
Why am I here?
I don't know what to do...
